- Interfaccia, laboratori e carte in italiano, inglese, spagnolo, francese e tedesco.

What PurpleDuel is
PurpleDuel (netrunner-academy.pages.dev) is a free game that runs in the browser, on computers, tablets and phones, to learn cybersecurity by playing. It has ethical-hacking labs with a simulated terminal, a card game where every attack has its real-world countermeasure, an Arena to build and defend your own system, and a new challenge every day. The name comes from the "purple team", the way of working in which attackers and defenders learn together.
Who makes it
PurpleDuel is an independent project designed, written and run by Alex Lenzi. There is no company behind it: every lab, card and guide exists to explain a real security concept clearly.
Why it exists
To defend a system you need to understand how it is attacked, but doing that on real systems is risky and often illegal. That is why in PurpleDuel everything is simulated: targets are invented data inside the game, no command ever contacts a real computer and you do not need to install any hacking tool. Every lab ends with a write-up explaining what went wrong and how to defend.
What you will find here
- Ethical-hacking labs in progressive tracks, from the Linux shell to incident analysis.
- A card game with attacks, defences, terrains, traps and spells inspired by real security.
- PvP Arena, simulated-company challenges, a daily CTF and weekly events.
- In-depth guides on concepts and defences (phishing, passwords, MFA, logs, hardening, kill chain…), written for beginners: they explain how to protect yourself, not how to attack real systems.
- Interface, labs and cards in Italian, English, Spanish, French and German.
How it is funded
The game is free and you can try it without an account. The project is funded by optional purchases in the shop (reseller: Polar Software, Inc.) and, with your consent, by optional video ads. Details about data and payments are in the privacy policy and the terms of service.
